The typical Swiss dish

Quantity: 4 people
Ingredients :
- 1 – 2 garlic cloves cut in half
- 800 g grated fondue cheese mixture, p. ex. half and half, or cheese shop mix
- 4 tsp cornstarch
- 3.5 dl of white wine
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 glass of kirsch of approx. 2.4 cl
- pepper, nutmeg
- 600 – 800 g bread, diced
Recipe :
- Rub the fondue pot with the garlic cloves.
- Mix the cheese and cornstarch, put in the fondue pot with the white wine and lemon juice and bring to the boil, stirring constantly.
- Incorporate the kirsch, season.
- Place the lightly simmering fondue on the stove.
- Place the pieces of bread on a fork and dip them into the fondue while stirring.

Fondue goes wonderfully with:
Dried meat, bacon, pickled mushrooms, pickles, hot tea and white wine
For children :
If children are participating in the meal, replace the wine with non-alcoholic cider or apple juice and do not add brandy.
